About

HOMEBREWED: The Sequel

HomeBrewed was conceived as the summertime pivot for the (covid-felled) 2020 Beer & BBQ Festival with a mantra to champion South Aussie brewers, chefs and artists. The inaugural event was held in Feb 2021 with about 12,000 enthusiastic fans braving the unseasonably cold and wet elements. It was only ever supposed to be a one-off! However, it was bloody great and it was even nominated for the SA Music Awards “Best Large Festival/Event” for 2021!

Now HomeBrewed is back for a second crack in 2022 with a mantra to expand their repertoire and champion all South Aussie libations, food and music.

THE STORY SO FAR

HomeBrewed may have been born in 2021 but it’s parents at Beer & BBQ Festival have been throwing great food and booze x music festivals since 2015. BBF has welcomed international brewers from all over the world including very special collabs with Brew Dog (in 2018 with 5 Australian breweries) and Collective Arts (in 2019 with 6 Australian breweries). BBF has hosted the Royal Adelaide Beer & Cider Awards in each year to kick off proceedings at the festival and now in total has been host to over 300 individual breweries.

The BBQ programme has seen highlights such as Rodney Scott (USA), Matty Matheson (Canada) who came back twice (!), Duncan Welgemoed (Africola), Jock Zonfrillo (fmrly Orana), Morgan McGlone (Bells Hot Chicken), Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters), Benjamin Cooper (Chin Chin), Mick Patrick (Fancy Hanks), Annaliese Gregory (fmrly Franklin), Simon Bryant and many, many more.

On stage we have been graced by Regurgitator, Frenzal Rhomb, The Preatures, Jen Cloher, DJ Yella (NWA), Holy Holy, Hockey Dad, West Thebarton, The Superjesus, Bob Evans, The John Steele Singers, Panama, Gooch Palms, Mojo Juju, Maddy Jane, Ali Barter, Ecca Vandal, You Am I, Sampology, Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, Moaning Lisa, VOIID, Wolf & Cub, Towns, Teenage Joans and dozens more.

In 2022 Beer & BBQ Fest will be back to it’s winter home in July (15-17) and welcome back hundreds of brewers, chefs and bands from all over the country (and world). Check out the www.beerbbqfest.com.au for details and tickets.

See you soon for a cold one!
